Onthulling Amsterdam Rainbow Dress

Op vrijdag 5 augustus, wordt er om 12.30 uur een bijzondere en imposante jurk onthuld: de Amsterdam Rainbow Dress. De jurk is gemaakt van de vlaggen van landen waarin homoseksualiteit strafbaar is. Een roze tulp

De EuroPride is na 22 jaar teruggekeerd naar Amsterdam. Speciaal voor de gelegenheid hebben we in het museum een vitrine gewijd aan grote LGBTI-evenementen. Een van de objecten is een houten logo. De komende weken kleurt de stad in alle kleuren van de regenboog: zaterdag 23 juli start EuroPride 2016. Contemporary vision of the city

Day of hearts

In some Amsterdam neighbourhoods, the ‘Day of Hearts’ is celebrated on the third Monday in August. In Dutch it is called ‘hartjesdag’. World premiere: gaymarriage

On the First of April 2001, Amsterdam had a World First: the marriage of same sex couples. That night, three male couples and one female couple married. While the other couples put a wedding ring upon each other’s finger, Frank Wittebrood and Peter Lemke took a gold coloured ring off.
