Linocut is a form of relief printing. So all the areas that are to remain blank are cut away on the linoleum base. When ink is rolled onto the lino with a roller, only the raised areas are inked. Then the linocut is placed on a sheet of paper or cloth. This is an example of a set of knives and gouges, an ink roller and a lino plate.
