The Luykens illustrated books about very different subjects: medical science, bible history, shipbuilding, draughtsmanship, Dutch history, world history, travel, cartouches on land and sea maps, etc. In total father and son made almost 4.500 different book illustrations in print form between them for no less than 500 book titles.
